This checklist helps sellers prepare business details, product information, photos, prices, categories, variations, delivery options, and platform rules before Kakuma Market Online launches.
What sellers should prepare
Good seller information makes it easier for buyers to find products and trust the marketplace.
1 Business details
- ✓Seller name and business/service name
- ✓Phone/WhatsApp number
- ✓Location, block, area, or landmark
- ✓Available days and times
2 Product details
- ✓Product/service name
- ✓Category
- ✓Description
- ✓Stock status: available, low stock, out of stock, by appointment
3 Prices
- ✓Clear price in KSh
- ✓“From KSh…” if price changes by size/weight
- ✓Unit: 1kg, 2kg, 1 piece, 1 hour
- ✓Update prices when market prices change
4 Variations/options
- ✓Size: S/M/L/XL or shoe size
- ✓Color: black, blue, mixed
- ✓Weight/volume: 1kg, 2kg, 1L
- ✓Model/type: Type-C, Android, iPhone
5 Photos
- ✓Clear product photos in daylight
- ✓Simple background if possible
- ✓Photo should match the real product
- ✓Ask permission before showing people’s faces
6 Delivery/payment
- ✓Delivery available: yes/no/sometimes
- ✓Pickup location
- ✓Payment method: cash, M-Pesa, or both
- ✓Confirm final price before customer pays

Use this format when collecting products from sellers.

Base priceExample: From KSh 150 or KSh 320 for 2kg

Seller rules reminder
- ✓Give true product/service information.
- ✓Do not list fake, stolen, unsafe, or prohibited items.
- ✓Confirm stock before asking customer to pay.
- ✓Respect customers, delivery youth, and marketplace admins.
- ✓Update prices and stock when they change.
